Palam 360 Khap President Chaudhary Surender Solanki said he was visiting 20 villages daily to enlist the support of the villagers for the event. The villagers have assured him of their presence in large numbers at the panchayat to voice their grievances.
Khap chief Surender Solanki lamented that long pending issues concerning the city's rural belt are yet to be addressed.
Palwal Superintendent of Police Lokendra Singh, while talking to ANI, said, “Permission for the (Mahapanchayat) has been granted on several conditions."
The apex court asked the petitioner, an NGO, to approach the Uttarakhand High Court as the law and order issue comes under the state government.
"If needed, we will break the barricades. No security can stop farmers from attending the mahapanchayat," said Jagdeep Singh Chaduni, a Karnal-based Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU).
While addressing a massive crowd at the 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' in Kaily village of Sardhana area of the district, Priyanka Gandhi asked people to start agitation against the three farm laws in their villages.
Akhilesh's Kisan Mahapanchayat is scheduled in Aligarh's Tappal on Friday, which had been in the headlines for the farmers' protest. Thereafter, he will hold a panchayat in Mathura district's Bajna, which is the epicentre of the agitation, on March 19.
