The council would announce the topics for the practical exams and the schools would conduct the assessment and evaluate the answer sheets. The WBCHSE will conduct the Class 11 annual exam in the afternoon slot (2 to 5.15pm) along with the HS exam.
The Chief Minister had already announced the opening of the schools from classes 9 to 12 from November 16 and it is indicative enough that the state government is also keen to restart the normal education system in the state.
This year, the Madhyamik examination could not be held due to the pandemic situation and the evaluation was based on the candidate’s performance in class IX in the year 2019 and internal assessment for every subject in class X on a 50:50 basis.
"The evaluation system has been finalised after taking opinion from experts. This process is proven to be very student-friendly," said Ms Mohua Das, president of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
The teachers and the taught will have to make do without conventional evaluation. The boards both at the national and state levels were in a fix.
