Dismissing the opposition AIADMK’s demand for a white paper on flood preparedness in the wake of the recent torrential downpour, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday said the state government is ready to face any rain-related exigency in future.
The Delhi chief minister along with Punjab CM Mann called on Stalin at his residence in Alwarpet in Chennai. AAP MP Raghav Chadha and DMK parliamentary party leader and former Union Minister TR Baalu were also present during the meeting.
The governor's move came in the wake of DMK allies, the VCK, the Left parties, and the Congress, shouted slogans against the recent comments made by the governor and ‘Long Live Tamil Nadu’ and ‘Aaalunare Veliyeru’
These regional chieftains have a proprietorial hold over their strong vote bank. The BJP plans to either decimate them or join them as their ally.
The DMK’s move was followed by an all-party meeting held by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on the issue.
Stalin had also warned the BJP-led Union government of DMK's continued opposition, and asked the government not to force another language war by imposing Hindi.
He said Tamil Nadu sportspersons can practice at the Mega Sports City to win medals at the international games.
Stalin also said personally he does not have any enmity with Ravi and the relationship between them is cordial.
Officials of the Tamil Nadu Assembly told IANS that the last day of the session would also be telecast live.
