'Chhari Mubarak' (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) accompanied by a group of Sadhus left Camp Panchtarni this morning for Holy Shrine of Amarnath on the occasion of Shravan Purnima and reached Holy Cave at 11 am after performing Pujan at 'Amar Ganga'.
Custodian of the mace, Mahant Deependra Giri, said it would leave for Sheshnag on Saturday where prayers will be performed at the holy Sheshnag Lake.
The puja lasted for about two hours. The Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara Trust was founded by the Late Mahant Mahadev Gir in 1957.
Custodian of the holy mace, Mahant Deependra Giri said that the Chhari Mubarak was taken for prayers at the temple on the occasion of ‘Shravan Shukla Paksha Pratipada’, as per the age-old traditions.
