Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday praised former Uttarakhand chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari and said he devoted his entire life to the service of the nation, tirelessly working to uplift the lives of the impoverished and marginalised.
Senior Congress leader and erstwhile Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, has urged today railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to introduce special trains on the Malda, Murshidabad, and Dinajpur (North and South) routes ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the festive season.

Giving a short summary of the work done during the session, Mr Birla said it was the 14th session of the 17th Lok Sabha, which commenced on 4 December.
"Our fleet of aircraft is expanding at a very rapid pace, going up from 626 last year to 644," he said.
The Bill seeks to regulate the appointment of CEC and two ECs.
