Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MPs, led by Kanimozhi, staged a protest in the Parliament premises on Tuesday against the remarks of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made in the Lok Sabha.
The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in December last year.
The first part of the Budget session drew to a close on February 13.
Earlier, responding to a question in the House, Mr Pradhan accused the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government of going back on its promise of implementing the PM SHRI scheme in the state.
Opposition members stage a brief walkout on Wednesday after a heated exchange of words over Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s visit to violence-hit Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Ajay Rai announced that newly-elected Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also likely to join the delegation.
Introduced in August this year, the Bill seeks to increase the option for nominees per bank account to four, from existing one, among others.
Since the Session commenced on November 25, proceedings of both Houses have been washed out amid opposition uproar.
Tharoor, a four-time Lok Sabha MP, said this while speaking at the Huddle Global 2024, India's flagship startup conclave, here on Saturday.
