Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on former deputy prime minister and veteran BJP leader L K Advani to greet him on his 97th birthday, here on Friday.
Extending his greetings to former deputy prime minister and veteran BJP leader L K Advani on his 97th birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the BJP patriarch is among "India's most admired statesmen".
“Lal Krishna Advani was discharged at 2 pm today. His condition is stable,” an official of the premier institute told The Statesman.
The President visited the house of Mr Advani, who has not been keeping well, in New Delhi to bestow upon him the nation's highest civilian honour.
President Murmu is likely to travel to BJP leader LK Advani' residence to confer the prestigious award.
The former Union finance minister also dismissed as a non-issue the controversy over the alleged misuse of INS Viraat by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The meeting comes days after Advani and Joshi were denied tickets by the party for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Last month, Advani’s Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat was snatched away, leaving him humiliated.
In a letter expressing her wish to not contest the polls, the MP from Indore questioned why a candidate has not been declared yet from the seat.
Advani’s post came just two days before the BJP’s Foundation Day celebrations and seven days before the start of polling in the seven-phase Lok Sabha election.
