The incident took place on Tuesday and the area falls under the Dhaurhara forest range under the Dudhwa buffer zone.
They have urged the district authorities to catch the feline posing a life threat and rehabilitate it.
Forest authorities have intensified their awareness programmes to minimize the man-animal conflict in the region which is in the vicinity of the Amangarh Tiger Reserve.
An official said the leopard safari was suspended on Thursday, but they, however, allowed those who had already bought their tickets online and in advance to enjoy the safari.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the locals spotted a leopard lying on the bank of Saryu river near Chaura village in district Bageshwar.
