In a statement from the Lebanese presidency, Aoun stressed that such acts must not be repeated, warning that security forces will not tolerate any attempts to undermine stability and civil peace.
The statement on Monday came following remarks by citizens over the social media and TV outlets urging Aoun to resign to pave the way for new parliamentary elections, the appointment of a new President and the formation of a cabinet capable of undertaking necessary reforms amid the current financial collapse in the country, reports Xinhua news agency.
The huge blast damaged buildings in a radius of several kilometres in Beirut, leaving more than 200,000 homeless or living in homes with no windows or doors.
