The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police gunned down 5 dreaded Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists along the Line of Control in Kupwara district's Machil sector.

According to the police, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 4 pistol rounds, 1 silencer, 1 IED, 1 remote control, 2 batteries, and 1 empty magazine of an AK 47 rifle were recovered on their disclosure.
Ten hand grenades, along with one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 60 live cartridges, were seized from the suspected militants.
The 25th report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team concerning ISIL (Da'esh), Al Qaeda and associated individuals and entities, was submitted to the UN Security Council.
Earlier, the security forces had arrested an Over-Ground Worker (OGW) affiliated to LeT on May 16.
The security forces have also arrested four more terrorist associates from Budgam and recovered incriminating materials from them.
It was a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Army at Sangam area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir.
