The Jharkhand government has decided to review the land acquisition process for the Adani Power Plant in Santhal Pargana.
The state government issued the acquisition notice for the pharma village on 30 July this year. However, after a ruckus over land acquisition, the Revenue Department issued a withdrawal notification through newspaper advertisements this morning.
The notification was issued by the Odisha Revenue & Disaster Management Department under Section-8 (2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (RFCTLARR Act), an official said on Saturday.
Solanki elaborated that about 49 bighas of land has been marked by the DDA and notice to vacate the marked land, which is a densely populated area, has been served.
“This press conference is being done because several misconceptions and lies are being spread and it is necessary that facts be presented and the truth reaches out to people in this regard,” Kumar said.
“The vacant plots can be made readily available but in case where there are habitations, necessary rehabilitation policy has to be arranged for the displaced people as the state government is against forcible land acquisition,”
The amended code will make it possible to lease agricultural land for industrial units and industrial parks.
