The administration of Ladakh Union Territory, on Tuesday, instructed the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Powergrid, and the Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) to formalize an action plan for developing a livestock grazing-friendly pilot solar project in Pang area.
The meeting organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Leh focused on preservation and promotion of Ladakh’s unique livestock and animal genetic resources.
The army on Monday observed Vijay Diwas across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by gallant soldiers and defeat of Pakistan in 13 days to end the war on 16 December, 1971.
President Droupadi Murmu said that Ladakh has to be taken forward on the path of development while preserving the natural beauty of the region and maintaining the distinct identity of its people.
“I salute the bravehearts of Jammu Kashmir Police. The nation will forever be indebted to the bravery, courage and supreme sacrifice of our police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” said L-G Manoj Sinha.
In addition, the conference was focusing on issues pertaining to organizational restructuring, logistics, administration, and human resource management.
The Mughal Road, which links Jammu’s Rajouri and Poonch districts directly with the Kashmir valley, was also shut due to heavy snow.
The Army’s Ladakh-based XIV Corps, also called the Fire and Fury Corps, made a swift effort to secure the region by fencing and sanitizing the mined areas in Phobrang, Yourgo, and Lukung villages. Residents of these villages expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the XIV Corps.
