Senior Congress leader Kumari Selja on Tuesday said that drawing conclusions based on trends so early in the day is "hasty" and expressed strong confidence in Congress winning the Haryana Assembly elections.
Priyanka was campaigning for the party's Sirsa candidate Kumari Selja who is pitted against BJP's Ashok Tanwar.
The leaders, who recently defected to the BJP, had accused the Congress candidate from Sirsha Lok Sabha constituency of shielding alleged coal and liquor scams in the state.
The Uttarakhand state in-charge felt letdown by the lack of unity in the party’s state unit ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
The former Union minister said neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor any BJP member is speaking up about this depreciation.
Congress sources said that it is highly likely that the long meeting of Kumari Selja with the chief minister is directly linked with the possible reshuffle in Rajasthan.
Congress leaders and party workers also held protests at petrol pumps in several parts of the city, demanding a complete rollback of the fuel price hike.
On Thursday, Congress leaders including Randeep Singh Surjewala and Kumari Selja had criticised the Haryana government over alleged removal of Parineeti Chopra from her assignment of brand ambassador.
'The JJP betrayed the voters of the state. All those who voted for the JJP are feeling cheated today after it extended the support to the BJP,' she said.
Selja took to Twitter and said, 'Haryana is ready to embrace a new dawn of justice and equality under the leadership of Congress'.
