The younger son of former Haryana CM Bhajan Lal, Bishnoi said the Congress has deviated from its ideology. Hence, it's no longer what it was during Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi's time.
Before joining the BJP, Bishnoi is likely to resign as Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Adampur.

After the Congress leader’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda, speculations are rife that he might resign from the Congress after presidential election before formally joining the BJP. His move will boost the saffron party’s hold on non-Jat vote bank.
Recently expelled MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi on Saturday said that the rules of the party existed only for some leaders while there were exceptions for others.
Bishnoi was upset with the party after he was denied state President post and had said he will only take a decision after meeting Rahul Gandhi but the meeting did not take place.
Taking a dig at the BJP government, he said the prices of petrol and diesel had also crossed the record of highest rate record of the last 20 months of its own government.
