The Pakistan government, in the petition, asked the IHC to appoint a legal representative for Jadhav so that it can fulfil its responsibility to see to the implementation of the ICJ’s decision.
The ordinance seeks to allow alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav the facility to file an appeal in a high court against his conviction.

Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs had on Sunday informed that consular access to Jadhav will be provided today in line with the Vienna Convention on consular relations, International Court of Justice (ICJ) judgement and the laws of Pakistan.

“We are in touch with Pakistan through diplomatic channels. We have conveyed our demand for full consular access. We are awaiting a response,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said at a media briefing.
While its leadership was aware that all its arguments were discarded and the decisions were in favour of India, the same could not be projected to their masses.
