The revered 54th The Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally is gearing up to become a testimony of timeless and iconic automotive beauties as they took over the Calcutta roads on 19 January 2025.
The car was seized and kept in Lalbazar. Murari Lala got a letter from Lalbazar after a week, along with a cheque for Rs 220. The police authorities admitted the fault of the lady who was driving the car in an inebriated state, and Rs 220 was given to repair the vehicle.
The major attractions of the event are assembly of vintage and classic cars, followed by a drive through the city where cars are assessed for originality and performance on the road section, display of period and fancy dress, grand parade and live music.
