The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order in the matter related to the constitutional validity of reservations for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in higher education and public employment on the basis of financial conditions.
Venugopal said not only is he required to consider whether "particular statements or conduct will be prima facie contumacious" but also whether it is in "larger public interest" to place such matters before the Supreme Court as a contempt petition.
Attorney General KK Venugopal said the statement was the perception of the speaker on the judgment of the Supreme Court and does not offer any comment on the Supreme Court itself.
