In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police said, "Two terrorists have been neutralised in the Sopore encounter. Identification and affiliation is being ascertained. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition recovered. Further details shall follow."
The police received a PCR call on Thursday from an ambulance operator who said that the victim was found lying near a crematorium in Jwala Nagar.
An official quoting the preliminary findings of the postmortem -- done by veterinarians of the medical board in Ranthambore on Monday-- said "The post-mortem revealed that the tiger was killed by a mob of villagers."
Suspense prevailed over the fate of the Ranthambhore tiger T-86 well known as Chirico who is believed to have killed a shepherd in the area adjoining the national park on Saturday.
