The Kharkiv offensive has great significance off the battlefield. Vladimir Putin’s imperial dreams of taking the whole country have evaporated. And retaking the key towns of Izium and Kupiansk has even compromised Russia’s ability to hold captured territory in the Donetsk oblast, which had become Putin’s declared basic objective.
Ukrainian forces "appear to have won the battle of Kharkiv", according to a US defence thinktank, in what appears to be their fastest advance since Russian troops pulled away from Kiev and the north-east over a month ago, The Guardian reported.
The brothers hail from Muktarpur village in Kalna. Dhananjoy said, “In their last call they had told us that they were required to walk through the roads to reach the nearest railway station and lacked adequate food and drinking water. We’re in deep anxiety. We’re feeling helpless sitting here.”
"Urgent advisory to all Indian nationals in Kharkiv: For their safety and security, they must leave Kharkiv immediately. Proceed to Pesochin, Babaye and Bezlyudovka as soon as possible. Under all circumstances, they must reach these settlements by 1800 hrs. Ukrainian Time (2130 hrs IST) today," the Indian Embassy in Ukraine said in its fresh advisory.
