The 50-year-old priest is currently is serving rigorous imprisonment for impregnating a 16-year-old girl in Mananthavady diocese. A POCSO court in Thalassery last year had sentenced Vadakkumchery to 20 years jail term and slapped a fine of Rs three lakh on him.
The case came to light in February 2017 when police zeroed down on Vadakkumchery as the main accused and arrested him.
Last week a magisterial court in Thiruvalla had rejected his bail, following which he approached the high court.
Father Abraham claimed he was studying in Hyderabad and working in Thiruvalla during the four-year period when the woman alleged he sexually abused her.
