In the quest for safer and more efficient train journeys, Indian Railways has unveiled Kavach, a state-of-the-art Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system that represents a breakthrough in indigenous technology.
He was replying to a debate on the railway allocations in the general Budget. The Opposition staged a walk-out protesting the Minister was not responding to their queries during his one-hour reply.
Indian Railways has also taken up preparatory works including survey, Detailed Project Report (DPR) and preparation of detailed estimate on another 6000 RKm.
On March 23, 2022, the Ministry of Railways stated that the creation of the indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System known as Kavach will significantly improve the safety of train operations in India.
