The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles marching contingent has been named the Best Marching Contingent among the Services at the 26th January Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path. A panel of judges evaluated the performances of marching contingents from the Services, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), other auxiliary forces, and tableaux from various states, Union Territories (UTs), and Central government ministries.
One of the highlights was the all-women marching contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), led by Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Joy M.
India marked its 76th Republic Day with a grand parade down Kartavya Path, showcasing the nation's strength, self-reliance, and cultural heritage.
President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, followed by the national anthem with a thunderous 21-gun salute using 105-mm Light Field Guns, an indigenous weapon system.
The naval contingent for this year's Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path will feature 144 young personnel, with an average age of just 25 years. Dubbed "special" by Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, Controller Personnel Services, the sailors have undergone rigorous training in preparation for the prestigious event.
The soldiers, braving harsh weather and bad air quality were seen marching in line with the drumbeats in their uniforms rehearsing for the 75th Republic Day parade.
Mr Modi will inaugurate the Amrit Vatika and Amrit Mahotsav Memorial during the programme. He will address thousands of Amrit Kalash Yatris joining the programme from across the country.
Addressing a press briefing, Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic, SS Yadav said: "We have appealed to the citizens to avoid going out for walking, picnic or cycling in the India Gate or Kartavya Path area."
The parade started with Parade Commander, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, a recipient of Ati Vishisth Seva Medal, marching down the Kartavya Path
Indian Army's Lethality, Accuracy and Reliability witnessed a leap with the acquisition of platforms like Akash Missile System, satellites, Modular Bridges, towed guns, utility helicopters, electronic warfare system and the likes of surface-to-air missiles.
