India’s ultra-aggressive batting approach on the penultimate day of the second Test in Kanpur paid rich dividends as they secured a seven-wicket victory to complete a 2-0 whitewash of Bangladesh at the Green Park on Tuesday.
Having lost considerable time in the second Test due to wet conditions, India’s top-order batters infused life back into the Kanpur Test with a T20-styled approach, and in the process went on to break a few Test records after sunny skies allowed resumption of play on the penultimate day at the Green Park here on Monday.

Dispelling doubts over Shakib Al Hasan’s availability for the second Test against India, starting on Friday in Kanpur, Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe on Wednesday confirmed that the star all-rounder is “eligible for selection”.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Monday that they will take a call on Shakib’s availability for the Kanpur Test following a medical assessment.
