The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, Northeast Frontier Railway, Janak Kumar Garg, will hold a statutory inquiry in connection with the Kanchenjunga Express tragedy that claimed eight lives and left 25 injured will be held on June 19.
Kanchanjungha Express, which was hit by a goods train and claimed eight lives, arrived at its destination station, Sealdah in Kolkata, in the early hours of Tuesday after the completion of restoration work.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and described the mishap as 'tragic and heart-wrenching'.
