Six persons, including three from Surat and one from Nagpur in Maharashtra, have already been taken into custody in connection with the murder case.
45-year-old Tiwari, who headed Hindu Samaj Party, was killed at his home in Naka Hindola area in Lucknow on October 18, he was earlier associated with a faction of the Hindu Mahasabha.
As per the sources, the driver of the car during interrogation revealed that the car was booked by a relative of the owner from Gujarat for Rs 5,000.
The two assailants identified as Ashfaq Husain and Moinuddin Patha, checked into a hotel a day before committing the murder. They checked out of the hotel an hour after brutally killing the Hindu leader.
UP DGP OP Singh said that the assailants brought sweets and spent over half an hour with Kamlesh Tiwari before shooting him dead.
