As the Haryana Assembly election draws near, the ruling BJP, facing anti-incumbency after a decade in power, is gearing up for a challenging battle.
In a major jolt to the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) of Punjab, BJP’s long-standing ally, on Monday decided to stay away from the Delhi Assembly election rather than contesting with BJP.
However, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has claimed that he is not aware of the development and said that he will speak to Ram Kumar Gautam.
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, decided to revise the ministers' HRA from Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 plus Rs 20,000 to cover electricity and water charges.
The day-long visit of Khattar along with his deputy Dushyant Chautala is crucial ahead of the state Assembly session beginning from Monday.
Yadav, who contested against Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal constituency, slammed the JJP in a strongly-worded Facebook post.
Earlier in the day, Khattar and his alliance partner Dushyant met Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya and staked claim to form the government in the state.
Former Haryana CM and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday also targeted the JJP for forming an alliance with the BJP saying that the 'public has now seen their real face'.
Khattar will now visit Haryana Governor and stake claim to form the government.
Earlier, BJP leader Uma Bharti also slammed BJP for its association with the controversial MLA-elect Gopal Kanda through a series of tweets.
