Earlier this month, authorities froze assets belonging to Lai, including his bank accounts and his stake of 71.26 per cent in Next Digital ~ estimated to be worth $ 45 million.
Two former pro-democracy politicians, Yeung Sum and Lee Cheuk-yan were also arrested on Friday morning, according to state news outlet RTHK.
