The 19-year-old, hailing from Aizawl in Mizoram, managed a total lift of 300kg (140kg in snatch and 160kg in clean & jerk) to wins India's second gold medal in the ongoing competition and in weightlifting after Mirabai Chanu won gold in women's 49kg category on Saturday.
As far as the Indian contingent is concerned, they continued their impressive run in the championship by winning six medals which included four gold medals, a couple of silver medals and a bronze.
The 15-year-old from Aizwal, who is also a world youth silver-medallist, lifted a total of 274 kg (124 kg +150 kg) to finish on top.
