Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), is set to be felicitated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the sidelines of its Special General Meeting (SGM), scheduled to be held in its headquarters on Sunday.
Highlighting his priority of cricket’s continued involvement in the Olympic movement, new International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah, on Thursday, held a meeting with Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (OCOG) CEO Cindy Hook.
Shah described his visit as “productive and inspiring”, and acknowledged the long road ahead.

The Delhi Capitals played their first three home games in Visakhapatnam as their traditional home venue — the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi was preoccupied for the Women’s Premier League playoffs.
Shah’s statement came a day after Australia legend Ricky Ponting, and former Aussie Test opener Justin Langer said that they had turned down approaches for the high-profile post. Both Ponting and Langer are associated with Indian Premier League franchises — Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah, however said that the rule is experimental and a call on its continuation in subsequent editions of the IPL will be taken after a discussion with stakeholders after the 2024 T20 World Cup.
We will call for applications in the next few days. Rahul Dravid’s tenure is coming to an end in June. If he wants to re-apply, he can,” Shah said during a media interaction at the BCCI headquarters.
Shah also said that current head coach Rahul Dravid can re-apply for the position if he wants to extend his tenure.
