Elaborating on the benefits of Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojana, which completed its 10 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that for him, this was not just a policy, but an endeavour to build an India where each has access to the formal banking apparatus.

As per the latest figures shared by Department of Financial Service, there are 40.05 crore beneficiaries of this scheme and deposits in Jan Dhan bank accounts are in excess of Rs 1.30 lakh crore.
The achievement comes just ahead of the sixth anniversary of PMJDY launch.
