The BJP spokesperson Shergill said basic health services have become inaccessible to rural areas of the state due to the shutting down of rural dispensaries by the Aam Aadmi Party Government.
Shergill, a prominent Jat Sikh face of the saffron party, said that it was extremely shameful that the AAP government grabbed power in Punjab by making “lucrative” and “false” promises.
The meeting came within 24 hours of Azad's resignation from all posts in Congress and it holds importance as the polls in the valley are likely to be held later this year.
Jaiveer Shergill, who resigned as Congress spokesperson on Wednesday, said the decision-making of the grand-old party is not in consonance with the ground reality and public interest but is influenced by sycophancy.
The young leader said the Congress' decision-making is influenced by the "self-serving interests" of individuals indulging in sycophancy.
He also said that self-serving interests were gaining precedence while public and national interests were being ignored. Shergill sent his letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Saturday had alleged that there is no forward movement on the MSP issue.
"The current catastrophic trajectory of violence has caused a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, thus, risking the lives of the people, including those from India," Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill said in his letter.
The Congress said that if ‘local’ has to be successful, the BJP government must arrest the dipping industrial output growth and support ‘Make in India’ by procuring materials and awarding contracts to the locals, end ‘tax terrorism’ and increase export incentives.
