The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested a Kashmir-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operative for his involvement in a terror conspiracy case in Jammu and Kashmir.
Terrorist Owais was involved in killing of a civilian namely Azad Ahmad Dar of Kangan Pulwama.
With this, 6 terrorists have been killed in J&K in the past 24 hours.
The area has been cordoned and search operation is in progress.
In a message to the public of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lt Governor said that the government and the security forces are working day and night to lay the foundation of its progressive and peaceful future and said that no outside forces can derail us from our mission.
The agency will file a chargesheet today against Azhar, Asghar, their slain relative Farooque, six arrested accused in the Pulwama terror attack case at a Jammu Special NIA court.
DGP Police Dilbag Singh said that there was no collateral damage during both these operations. This is the fifth encounter in Shopian during this month.
