Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and YSRCP supremo Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday warned that they would not spare any official or political leader involved in harassing YSRCP leaders or activists, reminding them that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will not be in power forever.
The US court’s indictment order on Gautam Adani mentioned a high-ranking official of Andhra Pradesh but did not name YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who held office as chief minister at that time.
YSRCP today alleged that the YSRCP chief’s security cover has suddenly been reduced overnight. The party also alleged that his bullet proof car broke down on his way to Vinukonda where a YSRCP activist was hacked to death.
As a result, the unfinished roads and buildings were damaged and cost escalated to an enormous amount. The credit ratings of Amaravati bonds were affected negatively. The brand image of the state suffered and the confidence of investors was shaken.
Reddy reminded the Chief Minister about the special category status that was promised to Andhra Pradesh in Parliament but was not implemented by the Centre.
Although sources called Reddy’s visit to KCR a courtesy call, the meeting coincided with Sharmila’s latest political move which is likely to boost the Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
There was a massive deployment of police personnel in all the villages where Naidu was scheduled to visit during his three-day visit, prompting the TDP to take a dig saying 2,000 policemen were deployed to stop him while only 150 were deployed to manage his roadshows.
Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan administered the oath of office and secrecy to members of the revamped Cabinet at a ceremony held near the State Secretariat and attended by leaders and workers of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and senior officials.
The new ministers will be Dharmana Prasada Rao, P. Rajanna Dora, Gudivada Amarnath, Buddi Muthyala Naidu, Dadishetti Raja, Karumuri Nageswararao, Kittu Satyanarayana, Jogi Ramesh, Ambati Rambabu, Meraga Nagarjuna, Vidadala Rajini, Kakani Govardhanreddy, Roja K. Selvamani and Usha Sricharan.
Raju, a member of Lok Sabha from Narsapur, also voiced the apprehension that Jagan may try to influence the witnesses in the case. He cited Jagan's non-appearance before the trial court and seeking exemptions as violations of bail conditions.
