The all-party meeting in Srinagar on Thursday unanimously supported the steps taken against Pakistan by the central government in retaliation against the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 persons were killed.
Denying that the Pahalgam terror attack was an intelligence failure, former Indian Army Generals have categorically called Wednesday’s massacre a Pakistan Army-sponsored strike—an attack not only on tourists but also on local Kashmiris, who will bear the maximum brunt.
The CM’s remarks came as the search operation against the holed up terrorists in Saniyal village of Hiranagar in Kathua district continued on the second day on Monday, but there was no exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists in the night that has given an impression that the terrorists might have escaped.
Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra lashed out at the central government and the LG administration for being "clueless" even as the law and order situation in the upper reaches of Kathua district is worsening.
Earlier, the security forces had arrested an Over-Ground Worker (OGW) affiliated to LeT on May 16.

The encounter started when security forces launched a joint operation in Posta-Potra village in Gundana area, 26 kms from Doda town, following information about presence of some terrorists, the officials said.
On November 21, last year, the Centre had justified restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of provisions of Article 370 and said that due to the preventive steps taken, neither a single life was lost nor a single bullet fired.
'Neither the management is paying us full wages nor they are allowing us to go back to our homes in various states,' said a worker.
