A goal by Iker Guarrotxena and an own-goal by Padam Chhetri helped FC Goa defeat Mohammedan SC 2-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday night.
The Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati is set to witness the biggest football rivalry in the country unfolding on January 11 with Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal battling it out in the return reg of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 here.
Before this, the club’s best performance had been reaching the ISL playoffs twice, once in the 2018-2019 season under Dutch coach Eelco Schatorrie and then in 2020-21 under Khalid Jamil.
The 30-year old is the all-time leading scorer of the A-league, Australia's first division with 154 goals to his name.
