Did Biden jump the gun?

For 20 years after 9/11, the Americans couldn’t find a trace of him. They looked all over Pakistan and Afghanistan and even into cyber space and the nether world yet they had no idea where he was.

Death of a terrorist

Mr Biden described Qurayshi as "the driving force behind the genocide of the Yazidi people in northwestern Iraq in 2014. We all remember the gutwrenching stories of mass slaughters that wiped out entire villages, thousands of women and young girls sold into slavery, rape used as a weapon of war.” Historically, for every terrorist killed, two are born. Thursday’s death will not signify the eclipse of IS, just as Bin Laden’s killing has not meant the end of Al Qaida.

Prison break

Human Rights Watch estimates the SDF holds about 12,000 men and boys suspected of Isis affiliation, including 2,000 to 4,000 foreigners from about 50 countries. The battles have triggered a civilian exodus from neighbourhoods around Ghwayran with families fleeing in the harsh winter cold as Kurdish forces closed in.
