The attacks came as the extremist IS militants intensified their attacks on the security forces, including Hashd Shaabi forces, and civilians in the Sunni provinces which once were under the control of IS militants
The protesters demanded comprehensive reform, fight against corruption, better public services and more job opportunities.
More than 5,000 US troops have been deployed in Iraq to support the Iraqi forces in the battles against Islamic State militants.
The curfew reduction is intended to give more time for the protesters to return home, the statement said.
The meeting came amid tensions in the Middle East region between the US and Iran, as Iraq previously offered mediation in the crisis.
The explosions took place in bases and warehouses belonging to militia groups under the umbrella of the mainly Iran-backed militias known as the Popular Mobilization Forces.
The visit came days after a US aircraft carrier was deployed to the region, which officials said was in response to threats to US forces and its allies from Iran.
