Iran slams IAEA’s claims about nuclear programme’s nature

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, on Monday slammed what he described as "untrue" claims by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General, Rafael Grossi, regarding the nature of Iran's "peaceful" nuclear programme.

Iranian affairs Professor Ismail Sari told The New Arab portal: “While some members of the regime continue to believe it is necessary to act brutally to prevent protests from gaining (further) momentum, others feel that violence against protesters doesn’t work and the protests will only come back bigger and stronger.”

True grit

The Iranian players, as opposed to those who conflate symbolism with substance, took the call not to sing their national anthem in support of widespread protests back home against the violent suppression of women’s rights as millions across the globe including their authoritarian government looked on, that true grit was on glorious display this Monday.

2 dead in Russian military plane crash in southern city of Yeysk

A Russian Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber jet crashed into a residential building in the city of Yeysk on Monday, citing the Russian state media TASS, CNN reported. The crash was due to the ignition of one of the engines, Russian state media RIA Novosti reported citing the country's defence ministry.
