The top court in January and May 2019 had granted Karti Chidambaram permission to travel to foreign countries after depositing Rs 10 crore each respectively with the registry.
As per the reports, Chidambaram was questioned for around six hours in connection with the probe into the Air India deal with Airbus.
Chidambaram also expressed his concern about the political leaders in Kashmir 'who have been detained without charges' post the revocation of Article 370.
On Wednesday evening at around 8 pm, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram walked out of the Tihar jail and met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence.
The government had already sanctioned the prosecution of former finance minister P Chidambaram in February this year, the officials said.
The former minister further claimed that it's absurd on the agency's part to even allege that he is a flight risk as a Look Out Circular is issued against him.
Chidambaram is under probe by the CBI and ED over alleged irregularities in the FIPB clearance granted to INX Media for receiving overseas funds of Rs 305 crore in 2007 during his tenure as Finance Minister.
Chidambaram will be produced before the court by the CBI for next hearing on September 19.
