"After having recognised the increased (Covid) vaccination coverage across the globe and in consultation with the stakeholders, the Government of India has decided to resume scheduled commercial international passenger services to/from India from 27.03.2022, i.e. start of the summer schedule 2022," the Civil Aviation Ministry said.
The airport located in the provincial capital was not allowed to operate civilian flights when it had served as a military base, reports TOLO News.
The Kabul airport was damaged with its many facilities destroyed during the withdrawal of US-led forces and American nationals on Aug. 31.
Scheduled international passenger services have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The directive comes a day after the Centre extended the lockdown period by two more weeks, starting from May 4.
Vistara will operate two daily flights to Singapore, one each from New Delhi and Mumbai, starting August 6 and August 7 respectively.
"(The flight) UA48 (New York/Newark-Mumbai) has been cancelled," the airline said in a statement.
Flynas will operate five flights every week from Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The flights will be operated on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the airline said in a statement.
The company is giving a discount voucher of Rs 750 on all domestic flights and Rs 2000 on the international flights to passengers who had booked through the site but their tickets were cancelled by the airline
