The changes are expected to provide flexibility to customers in case of limited options, delays or cancellations, especially owing to fog or other adverse weather conditions.
The airline in a statement said it has already processed close to Rs 1,000 crore of refunds.
Prior to WestJet, Saretsky was associated with Alaska Airlines from 1998-2008.
'The flight operation shall be restored only after the airline has taken all the necessary punitive action against those responsible for the violation,' it said.
The announcement comes a day after the firm posted its highest ever quarterly net loss at Rs 2,844.3 crore for the first quarter of 2020-21.
