In a unique initiative, the Indian Army on Tuesday launched ‘Chiefs’ Chintan’ — a structured two-day interaction between the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, and former Chiefs of the Army Staff (CsOAS).
The Additional Directorate General of Public Information, Indian Army, released a video containing these heartfelt messages from the public on a social media platform.
The expedition, flagged off from the revered Kargil War Memorial in Dras, paid homage to the unwavering spirit and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who recaptured strategic heights from enemy force, marking a crucial turning point in the conflict.
The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 14th to 28th June, an official release issued here said.
General Ved Prakash Malik was the Army Chief from 1997 to 2000. He was commissioned into the 3rd Sikh Light Infantry in 1959. He is known for overseeing the planning and execution of Operation Vijay during the Kargil War.
