Gangasagar emerges as India’s premier pilgrimage destination: Minister

Despite the ongoing Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh, the Gangasagar Mela on the shores of the Bay of Bengal has once again proven its status as one of India's premier pilgrimage destinations. Bankim Chandra Hazra, minister of Sundarban affairs, highlighted this while participating in a beach clean-up drive on Thursday.

Number of e-services across India increases to 18,500

The number of e-Services across India has increased in 2024 to 18,500, 74 per cent of the total services being delivered as e-Services. This has come to the fore during a meeting convened by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) with Right to Services (RTS) chief commissioners and commissioners from states/Union Territories (UTs) for exchange of best practices and improve service delivery by promotion of e-services to bring citizens and government closer using technology.

Daring to Dream 

Indian industry saw progressive liberalisation and removal of bottlenecks after 2014, beginning with increasing the cap in the defence sector, first from 26 per cent to 49 per cent under the approval route, and then to 74 per cent under the automatic route and 100 per cent under the approval route. All brownfield projects now allow 75 per cent FDI under the automatic route and 100 per cent by the approval route
