India renews appeal to Bangladesh to protect minorities

India on Friday once again asked the interim government in Bangladesh to live up to its responsibility of protecting Hindus and other minorities, saying incidents of violence and provocation against the minorities in the neighbouring country cannot be dismissed as media exaggerations.

Indictment of the chairman and top executives of the Adani Group on bribery charges by a New York court, has set alarm bells ringing in India. Less than two years ago, a US short-seller, Hindenburg, had alleged massive financial impropriety by the Adani group, but after long drawn enquiries, SEBI gave the Adanis a clean chit ~ which was endorsed by the Supreme Court.

Some stray thoughts on India’s sporting journey

The world is getting ready for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris which starts later this month. As a young boy growing up in post-independence India, I had a sincere wish to see my country gain prominence on the world stage and to see Indian athletes succeed in international sports.
