India, China agree to strengthen diplomatic & military mechanisms to maintain peace along LAC

External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar held a meeting with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Johannesburg, Jaishankar.
Speaking with Chinese Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun at the 11th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus in Vientiane, Lao PDR, Singh called for confidence-building measures and de-escalation to rebuild mutual trust.
“Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India,” asserted the MEA.
Jaishankar accused China of violating agreements by bringing troops to the LAC.
The mechanism is expected to go a long way in promoting cultural, economic, academic and other links between the two ancient civilisations.
