The award, conferred by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), will be formally presented during the IMA’s national conference in Hyderabad next month.
The outdoor services will remain suspended both in private and government hospitals, cold operations (planned surgeries) will also remain suspended for two days. However, emergency services will be on.
In its plea, the IMA said this notification would result in creating havoc in the established system of medical care and treatment being provided to the citizens of the country.
According to a report of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bihar unit, more than 250 doctors and health workers are currently infected with Coronavirus and have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment while it has also claimed lives of two doctors, including an eminent ENT specialist Dr NK Singh posted with the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) so far.
“We have had to face many challenges while dealing with the Corona Pandemic, but with the support of all sections of society, we shall soon overcome this crisis,” the CM said while addressing the meeting.
Thereafter, hundreds of patients suffering from various ailments like heart disease, high blood pressure, renal failure acute and chronic dysentery, and people with flu-like symptoms, found most of the chambers and clinics closed.
The IMA, in a letter, had stated that all doctors and hospitals will observe a 'white alert' at 9 pm on April 22 and a 'Black Day' on April 23.
