The modus operandi of the arms smuggler and the source of procurement of the illegal arms are being looked into, said police officials.
Seizure of a huge consignment of illegal firearms during the festive season has been considered as a major crack down on the criminal activities.
The accused have been identified as Paras Aggarwal and Than Singh. Arms and live cartridges were recovered from their possession.
In order to find further suspects and the source of illegal weapons and ammunition, more research and questioning are being conducted.
The arrested accused and his accomplices used to manufacture illegal weapons sitting in raw drains in the fields and sell them for about Rs 3,000 to 4,000.
Those arrested have been identified as Pawan Kumar resident of district Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) and Kulwinder Singh resident of Karaiwala in Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Meanwhile, in another raid based on a tip-off, a team of officers had conducted raids at a residence of another businessman Md Yasin at Elliot Road at Park Street and confiscated cash worth Rs 1.50cr from his residence.
