States asked to strengthen ILI, SARI surveillance after detection of HMPV cases

Amid reports of detection of the Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases in different states including Karnataka, the Union Health Ministry has advised the States and Union Territories (UTs) to strengthen Influenza-Like Illness (ILI)/ Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) surveillance.
