Authorities fear some people who did not evacuate could be buried beneath piles of concrete, wood and mangled metal in Florida.
Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday as a Category 4 hurricane, the strongest on record to hit the area and charged north through Georgia and into the Carolinas and Virginia, wreaking havoc and causing emergencies.
The National Weather Service said that Hurricane Michael will bring life-threatening storm surge, hurricane force winds, and heavy rainfall along the northeastern Gulf Coast.
