The students have demanded a complete rollback of the proposed hike in hostel fees, along with reconvening of the Inter-Hall Administration meeting that had passed the proposed fee hike on October 28.
The students laid virtual siege to the Convention Centre where the JNU Executive Council was to meet, forcing the administration to change the venue to some undisclosed place.
As more and more students joined the protests raising slogans with placards in their hands, calling Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar a 'thief', extra forces were called in to manage the agitating crowd.
